Brian Williams and Amazon are asking election night news-seekers to take a leap of faith with them

Let no one accuse Brian Williams of trying to lower expectations a week before his election night special coverage on Amazon Prime Video. “This will be the first — if you'll forgive the phrase — new product introduction in the election night space since color television,” the former NBC News anchor said shortly after landing in Los Angeles, near where Amazon is building a set for him at its massive new studio. Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Apple earnings: What to watch

With five of the “Magnificent Seven” names, Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL), Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), Meta (META), and Apple (AAPL), reporting quarterly earnings this week, Neuberger Berman senior research analyst Dan Flax joins Morning Brief Hosts Seana Smith and Brad Smith to break down what investors need to know. Flax tells Yahoo Finance, “It's going to be important in terms of getting an update on some of the cyclical factors. There's clearly patches of weakness in the consumer [and] I think the enterprise is slower, but if we step back and think ‘What's happening?' you have this build out of the digital platform, the cloud, artificial intelligence. These secular trends remain healthy in my view.” The analyst says he expects solid growth from hyperscalers’ cloud businesses. “With Microsoft, their Azure business, I think you'll see good growth there. I think with Amazon Web Services you'll also see healthy growth there. And I'll also highlight the Google Cloud business which we think is an underappreciated opportunity for them. And so I think that will remain healthy.” He adds that Apple is in “the very, very early days with the new cycle” with the iPhone 16 and Apple Intelligence.
