President-elect Donald Trump says Paul Atkins is his pick to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) after current SEC chair Gary Gensler announced that he will step down in January. Atkins, who served as an SEC commissioner from 2002 to 2008, as SEC chair comes as good news for crypto investors as he is considered a crypto enthusiast. Trump also has named Gail Slater to lead the Department of Justice's antitrust division. The DOJ is currently targeting Big Tech names like Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) due to antitrust concerns.
